Dr.C. Muthuraja is the Head and Associate Professor, Post Graduate and Research Department of Economics, The American College, Madurai teaching Economics for nearly 30 years to Under Graduate (both Tamil and English Medium) and Post Graduate Students. He is Research Guide for M.A, M.Phil and PhD Students. He has participated in 5 refresher courses and participated and presented papers in 15 International Level and 155 National Level Conferences / Seminars /Workshops. Dr.C. Muthuraja has published 20 academic articles in News Papers in English and Tamil and 60 articles in Edited Books and National and International Journals. He has received Awards from Economic Committee of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad (1988), Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi (1988), Poverty Eradication Foundation, California, (U.S.A) (1989) and Life Time Recognition Productivity Award from National Productivity Council, Government of India, New Delhi (2012). He has Life Membership in Madurai Productivity Council, Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE), Association of Economists of Tamil Nadu (AET), Indian Economic Association (IEA), Indian Association for Women’s Studies (IAWS), Association of Gerontology, Quality Circle Forum of India, Indian Society of Criminology (ISC), Madurai Media Club etc. He is Executive Member in Indian Economic Association (IEA), Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE) and Indian Society of Criminology (ISC).
